In addition to reading the consumption of power our technology has the ability to easily change its functionality to undertake other ‘smart’ features remotely:

• The data collector has the ability to be pro-active and control external units. 

• The data collector may switch on or off power from an existing installed meter. This may be facilitated by adding a digitally controlled silicon switch. The data collector merely receives instruction from the Intelemetrix data centre to turn the power either on or off.

• The data collector has the ability to co-ordinate and switch on or off appliances. This will be dependant on how those appliances are set up to communicate. However, it is assumed that most of these appliances operate with a PLC module which the data collector uses to communicate to the appliance and commands it to turn on or off.

• The data collector may incorporate extra sensors to detect temperature and or humidity and the like.
